It's beginning to look a lot like Aix-mas

From decorations around town, to the Christmas markets starting, French people are finally getting into the holiday spirit!

Provence is a weird place for all this, though. It may sound like Christmas, it may feel like Christmas, it may even smell like Christmas! It just doesn't look like Christmas belongs here in this town of sandy coloured buildings, bright shutters, orange leaves, and 65°.

I guess I'm just used to my grey New York.

There are Christmas markets set up on the Cours Mirabeau, too. They're open everyday, unlike the big market that happens on Tues/Thurs/Sat.

...but the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door!

2012 Breakdown

California Christmas!

New skis for the 2012 season!

Reunited with ∆Z juniors who got back from abroad!
patriots vs. broncos game - pats pats pats!

Making cookies for K∑ with Betty Crocker:
Note to all sorority girls: frat kitchens are a scary scary place!

Some skiing adventures:
Skiing this year wasn't as good as other years. In fact, it was pretty sucky. When it did snow, it wasn't much and didn't last long. Sometimes you had to wait all day for it to even get soft enough to shred. And the few times we got powder, it was gone in a flash. Me and Steeze had a good day at Copper (below) and quaffed the fresh on the back bowls :)
 with steezy at Copper Mtn.

Went to Aspen for the weekend (Feb. 9-12):
We stayed with Oley's family - they are such awesome, nice, cool people! - and skiied fo' free one day and hiked a nearby mountain the other day.
me, stu, oley, and doug on top of Aspen Mtn.

Performed "Wannabe" at Gamma Phi-Oke with other ∆Zs:
We pulled it together at the last second. Good effort ladies :)

Discovered the magic of the song "Call Me Maybe" with Stu:
Finals week was just full of this song. And now it's in constant rotation in my playlists.

And that's basically my winter quarter! Spring has just started and I can't wait for all the fun times that are about to come...

Snow and life and kiddos and things

A lot is going on today!
Yesterday was literally 85 degrees and right now it is SNOWING. Chyaaa not the same weather. But I'm used to it now hahaha... oh Colorado.

Also yesterday, I did community service at Mount Saint Vincent Home. It is a home/school for children who have mental disabilities, experienced neglect or abuse, or are in foster care. We helped make their playground all pretty and cleaned up the garden for when the kids come out to play in the spring (probably not today). It was really fun and a lot of other DZs were there too so we got to do good things together!

Tonight, Nessie and I are hosting two prospective students overnight. They're gonna stay in our room and hear about all the awesome things about DU!! Wonder how we're gonna fare in this god-awful weather...

Happy Sunday! Can't wait for this bee-a-you-tee-ful month of April to get going! It's had a great start so far :)

NEON POLLUTION

Today is April Fool's Day and so it's a tradition of ski mountain locals to dress really crazily and ski all over the mountain. These are our pictures. I'm sure you get the idea...

Second ski weekend in a row

This weekend, my friend Ginger's mom came out to Denver and took us both skiing at Breck. It was the perfect weekend to go! We had fresh powder on both Friday and Sunday, sun on Friday and Saturday, and hot tubbing all three days :)

It was also the first weekend of President's Week, or February break, on the east coast... which I miss... because we don't get that in college...
But hey! it's college, what other kind of vacation do I need ;) (Just kidding, Dad)

Anyway, the skiing was great and I had a fun time with Ginger, her aunt (who also came out) and her mom. We talked about boys and parties and wine - such a girly weekend :)

It feels good to be back with my corner room crew though! (shout out: NESSIE!)
