Are you MAN enough?

∆Z's annual philanthropy to support many wonderful organizations, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University, and the House Ear Institute, was a great success this year. I was on the planning committee for it so it was exciting to see everything come together after weeks of work.

Big Man on Campus is a three-day long event that leads up to the Big Man pageant (last night) where we name the winning fraternity. Basically, it is our version of Derby Days.

It started off with Senior Formal on Friday. Then Turtle Tug on Saturday. Fraternity teams of five guys played tug of war over a pool of Jell-O. The winner (best out of three) was whoever didn't land in the green gelatin. Everyone who got wet (which ended up being pretty much everyone in the end) was extra cold, too, because it was pretty dreary out.

Sunday was Flag Football. This was fun, until one of the ∑X brothers got hurt going in for an amazing touchdown. He's still in intensive care from his accident; all of ∆Z sends warm well wishes to him, his family, and his fraternity.

Monday was the best - it was the pageant after all! And who doesn't like to see some good, friendly, inter-Greek competition?

There were six portions: frat wear, talent, swimsuit, pushups, formal wear, and questions. Six representatives of frats on campus competed for the title of Big Man on Campus. A lot of people showed up to show support of their respective frat, which made the whole evening even more fun. I got to "DJ" the event - I put this in quotes because I am very obviously not a professional and messed up a whole lot. But people liked the songs I played so I think it went okay.

∑X's contestant won the title of Big Man, but everyone won some other smaller titles.

Congrats, Sigma Chi!
